Will That Be Enough To Curb Terrorism?

Today’s headlines in The Times of India, “US stalls military aid to Pakistan” caught my attention. I started reading the column. It says, US held back $800 million which was supposed to given for the military aid to Pakistan. The news further reveals that, the amount of $800 million constitutes a third of the more than $2 billion assistance earmarked for Pakistan in 2011. The reason behind the cut off has also been disclosed by the Obama admin. The White House chief of staff William Daley said, that the cut off has been done to fight against terrorism. Even more cuts are also expected if Pakistan remains defiant.

Terrorism has touched the sky today. And the terror attacks on India were many in the past. Pakistan has played the master role behind all the attacks from J & K to Mumbai in past years. Those wounds were still open.

What can we say as Indians ‘a relief’, after hearing the news of military aid cut off? Will it really help to curb terrorism? May be or may be not…

We can only hope that US takes some drastic steps in future against Pakistan and all the countries which are promoting terror in the world today.
